A hand grenade was thrown near the main bridge on the Ibar from the northern, Serbian side of Kosovska Mitrovica, the explosion of which disturbed the citizens.
The explosion was heard on Tuesday after midnight, and the investigation is ongoing.
The Regional Chief of Operations of the Kosovo Police - North, Željko Bojić, confirmed that at 23.45:XNUMX p.m., an explosive device was thrown from the left side of the bridge in the direction of Bošnjačka Mahala.
"Our investigative units went to the scene and after investigation determined that an M 75 hand grenade was thrown, this criminal offense was characterized as causing general danger, the public prosecutor was informed," said Bojić and added that the investigation is ongoing.
Works on the revitalization of the bridge that separates Kosovska Mitrovica into northern - Serbian, and southern - Albanian dio, they started on Sunday.
These works are the result of an agreement between Belgrade and Pristina in Brussels, which stipulates that the bridge will be open to motor vehicle traffic by January 20, 2017.
