The summer so far…
It started so well for Liverpool who moved quickly to pick up the high-quality additions of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai. However, Saudi Arabia came calling and picked up key players in Jordan Henderson and Fabinho. Whilst Jurgen Klopp needed a midfield evolution after finishing fifth, it’ll be a little worrying to lose two of his trusted lieutenants. Southampton midfielder Roméo Lavia is currently being targeted to add some energy and defensive stability, expect this deal to be done by the end of the transfer window.
Player to watch…
After a season of settling into the rhythms of Premier League football, expect Darwin Nunez to step up. Last season saw the big Uruguayan score 14 goals in all competitions, and a 20+ goal season would go some way in justifying his huge transfer fee. His relationship with a returning Luis Diaz could be crucial if Liverpool are to return to the top four and have a creditable crack at some domestic silverware.
Kit Watch
Liverpool always moves quickly with getting their kits out. This home kit was used in the final home game in 2022/23. Huge fan of the retro collar and overall vibes from this one. 4/5.
Predicted Finish – 4th
We are backing Liverpool for a top-four finish. The midfield may take a little time to get going, however, it will be interesting to see if Klopp insists on using Trent Alexander Arnold in that role again. However, a frontline with the likes of Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez, Diego Jota, Luis Diaz and Coady Gakpo you feel they have enough firepower to return to the Champions League.
